Six Steps to a Fitter You!
Step One: Consultation
What are you trying to accomplish by working with a trainer? Have you worked with a trainer before? What successes have you had in the past?
These are just a few of the questions we will answer during your free consultation. The aim of this session is to see if we are a good fit for working together, as well as answering any questions you may have about our training services.
Step Two: Interview
This session is where we get down to work. The interview process includes gathering information on relevant medical and injury history, your sport and training history, nutrition, lifestyle, etc.
Step Three: Assessment

The interview and assessment steps are often done at the same appointment. Here we have the opportunity to evaluate the current physical state of your body in order to discover what type of training is best suited to you. For example testing the flexibility in your hamstrings can point us in the right direction as far as what exercises to use for training your legs. After the assessments are completed, we will go over what was discovered and offer feedback on the results. A goal session is next, where we will get down on paper what you want to achieve.
Step Four: Program Design
The next step is to combine the information from the interview, assessments and goal session and write your individualized program.
Step Five: Coaching and Teaching
Coaching covers a number of aspects of your custom program. First and foremost is teaching proper execution of each exercise in your training, as safety and injury prevention is the number one priority. The number of coaching sessions varies depending on the program.
Step Six: Training
There is no doubt that those who meet with me on a regular basis achieve their goals more safely and quickly. Refining exercise technique, accountability to goals, and encouragement are just a few of the reasons to meet on a weekly basis. The more we meet, the better results you will get!
Some of my clients prefer to train on their own, and simply want to take advantage of a professional who is able to design a program that works for them. No problem! The six steps are the same, we just meet on a less frequent basis, in general no less than once a month.
Now Is The Time To Start!
